Introduction

Kenaidan Construction undertook the development of a Construction Project Management tool using Microsoft Power Platform and SharePoint as the database. The tool aimed to streamline project management processes, enhance communication, and improve overall efficiency across their operations.

The Challenge

Kenaidan Construction faced significant challenges with outdated project management systems and inefficient communication methods across various project sites. There was a clear need for a centralized platform that could simplify project creation, streamline daily reporting, manage punch lists, handle RFIs (Requests for Information), oversee submittals, and enhance notification systems.

Solution

Our team developed a comprehensive Construction Project Management tool using Microsoft Power Platform integrated with SharePoint. Key components of the solution included:

  • New Project Management System: Simplified project creation with an intuitive interface, automatic email group setup, and dedicated SharePoint sites for each project.
  • Daily Reports: Enabled site supervisors to efficiently document daily activities, featuring sorting, filtering, and seamless data integration with SharePoint.
  • Punch/Deficiency Lists: Facilitated streamlined reporting of project issues, including creation, sorting functionalities, and robust backend integration for data management.
  • RFIs and Submittals: Empowered supervisors to manage requests for information and project deliverables efficiently, with automated email notifications and comprehensive data tracking.
  • Notifications: Provided automatic email and mobile push notifications for real-time updates on project actions and assignments.
  • User Management: Offered super administrators the ability to assign roles and permissions at company and project levels, ensuring secure access and efficient data management.

Outcome

Since implementing the Construction Project Management tool, Kenaidan Construction has achieved:

  • Improved Project Coordination: Enhanced communication and streamlined workflows.
  • Efficiency Gains: Automation reduced manual effort in reporting and communication, improving data accessibility.
  • Better Decision-Making: Increased transparency and project success, leading to heightened client satisfaction and operational excellence.
